The winners of the Chinese qualifier for this year's ESWC, TyLoo.raw, will not participate at the Grand Final due to financial issues by the local organisers. The travel and accomodation expenses will not be covered by the Chinese company behind the qualifier, Beijing Ruidashuachuan Inc., while the team hasn't agreed to pay the trip and licensing by themselves.
A rather shocking statement was given by the Chinese government, which stated that Counter-Strike is not considered an eSports title. Fortunately, the country will still be represented at the finals by the FIFA, Warcraft III and DotA teams.
A large pingame update has been released and rolled out to all the premium servers. The update contains many fixes and tweaks, but several changes stand out among the rest:
The second half the gather can now be started if teams are not full.
Automatic reports should no longer have the wrong report id sent to the team captain.
Players who leave during voting will now always have a report filed on them. Anyone without a good excuse will receive leaver ban points.
Finally was able to locate and squash a bug which resulted in team counts being uneven.
So you have had plenty of time to test out the new update and to see what aspects of it you prefer and those that you don't. We are keen to hear your feedback on any aspect of the recent update - whether you love it or hate it, we want to hear from you. You can use the link below to post your views in the forum thread created specifically for this reason.
This is also an excellent chance for you to ask Kalhimeo a question yourself, though any questions should only relate to the recent update. We will select a few of the questions asked and put them to Kalhimeo to answer - so if there is something that has been playing on your mind and you want an answer for it then feel free to post in the thread linked below and we will do our best to get it answered for you.
Any feedback left in this news post won't be read, nor will any questions for Kalhimeo. If you are asking Kalhimeo a question please put "Q:" before your question.
.replaceme:
We are experiencing a high number of users leaving gathers because they believe when someone joins the server they believe thats their sub. Please note that if you leave before the bot kicks you will still recieve banpoints.
Bot will kick you once your sub arrives.
.report:
Today we have noticed that users are using the .report command for "leaver" this is not needed, due to the bot will send a automated report to the captain to fill out that the user left the game.
