Due to increased interests and increased income of new players our main sponsor KGB-Hosting which recently extended their capacities to other countries provided us with two brand new clanwar servers located in Munich, Germany.
Servers IP's:
193.34.145.104:28000 193.34.145.104:28001
About our sponsor
KGB-Hosting currently provides high quality servers with very low pings and extremely low prices for all types of games primary HL1 and HL2 engine. Their data centers are located in Belgrade (Serbia) and Munich (Germany). With their great offers you could get a 12slot server for you clan for only 5e/month. You could check their low-price offers by visiting http://www.kgb-hosting.com
We hope you will enjoy our new servers and once again we'd like to thank our sponsor for supporting us during a whole year of channel activity.
I am proud to say that #CS.Gather.FI management is doing brilliant! I would like to bring out another sponsor of #CS.Gather.FI, Serververhuur, they supplied us with two 12 slots server located in Netherlands and Sweden, we are trying to give as much opportunity to let the other players get the best ping/latency. Serververhuur is the largest game server providers in the Netherlands and I can truly say that the service and quality of Serververhuur is great!
We have also added one UK server (11 slots) mainly for the UK players, the server is completely funded by the #CS.Gather.FI management!
However, we can only have 3 foreign servers since its the GN rules to have a 50 - 50 servers, this means 3 server located in Finland and 3 others in different foreign locations.
As some of you may be aware, i'm currently trying to organise an official Gather-Network UK LAN for this coming summer (or winter), however i need to know exactly how much interest there would be. The idea is to host a LAN somewhere in the UK (to be decided) for the Gather-Network users - whether it will be only gathers or a team event is something that can be decided upon after seeing who and how many people are interested. In some way, shape or form we hope to have prizes but this isn't yet guaranteed (as this idea is only in theory atm) and even if it is, the prize isn't going to be silly amounts of money (if a sponsor is found, hardware and x amounts of cash aren't out the question).
The idea is to simply organise an event where Gather-Network users can meet each other, have fun and most of all, play some games! However before this is even planned, i need to know how many people would be potentially interested in such a LAN event. If we manage to get enough users interested in this event i would request that users paid money in advance for the cost of their PC hiring, attendance fee and obviously money for those who wish to stay overnight (tents ftw). If we were to hire a place, it would obviously include PC hire, toilets, car park and an area for tents.
If enough people are interested, it's even possible to have a clan concept and also have a place for those who wish to play gathers, to play gathers. Or when they aren't in a clan match they can chillout and shoot some heads in a gather. I think this would be the best idea and would keep those who want to compete with clans and those who just want to meet up and play gathers, happy. This concept really could work and could mean, if enough interest is given, that there could be some decent prizes for those who are in clans (i suppose it's viable to give prizes too for those who just play gathers, but not quite sure what the concept would be as of yet).
In theory, this could be a great event and could well be the next step that the Gather-Network needs in involving the community as much as it can. It's not often that a community gets together to pit their skills against each other at an organised LAN event. If anyone has suggestions, questions or feedback, please leave it at the forum thread below.

As you all know last week we started the Ask Series aswell as interviews with famous Gather-Network profiles. Today we are going to show you one of the interviews and all the answers in this week Bodyboard interview.
Staff: Can you introduce yourself to the readers and why they might have heard of you? Bodyboard: Hi, my name is Paulo Figueiredo, mostly known as body or bodyboard. They might have heard of me because I'm always in the top10 ladder, almost every month and I was in a top2 portuguese team.
Staff: We just entered in 2010 , do you have any plans for it? Maybe keep on winning the Gather-Network Ladder? Bodyboard: No, I really don't have any plans about Counter-Strike or Gather-Network, I just want to find a job, it seems to be hard :(
Staff: Aside from playing Counter-Strike do you have any other hobbies?
Boydboard: Of course I do like bodyboarding, playing football, swimming, etc.
Staff: You have a pretty interesting nickname, could you share the story behind it? Bodyboard: Sure, I was 14 years old when my classmate called me to come to a LAN in my city, I saw him playing Counter-Strike and I really liked it, so the next day I played and I needed a new nick so i choosed bodyboard because in that time I was always bodyboarding... since then, i'm bodyboard :P
Staff: Do you pay any interest to the E-Sport scene(not just Counter-Strike) but maybe watching demos, reading coverages etc...? Bodyboard: Yep, I try to know everything about what is going around with the scene and about watching demos, sometimes i watch top players to learn something new like movements, positions, throwing nades, etc.
Staff: What are your thoughts about the new Gather-Network Project that was supposed to be released in 2009? Bodyboard: I have no idea, I just think that myst/kalhimeo should spend more time with Gather-Network or else give access to the guys who really have time to spend with Gather-Network.
Staff: What were your favourite matches that you played in? Bodyboard: Every single match on ESWC 2008 with RevolutionGames when we finished 2nd place. Recent match, I think it was BUSSIFUORI vs Millenium @ Gamegune 2009, it was my first game vs international team on LAN and it was 15-15.
Staff: Thank you for your time, any Shoutouts? Bodyboard: I wanna say to myst/kalhimeo, you guys should pay more attention into gather-network! Thanks for the interview ;)
