The Electronic Sports league (ESL) has announced a Counter-Strike: Promod (CSP) launch event
The ESL has announced an event to celebrate the launch of CSP on Sunday the 31st of January, to celebrate the launch ESL will expand their gather & PCW systems to support promod as well as providing free CSP game servers to active teams and players, as well as offering a free month of premium to those who complete 5 gathers. However this event is currently only planned for ESL Benelux but is available for participation by all ESL players.
Quotation taken from the ESL website:
"As most of you know, this sunday CSPromod will be launched. Together with Clanhost we will organize an online launch of this new game!
Everybody can join, everybody can play. When the tool gets online not everybody will have their own server off course. That's why Clanhost will provide us some FREE servers.
ESL has a good gather and search-PCW tool. In most country's more popular than IRC. Via this tool you can easily look for PCW's or join gathers. Everybody can join and create. It's easy and it has its own chat system, server interfaces and much more. You do not need aequitas in order to play via this tool.
This sunday we will all play via the gather tool in the newly launched CSPromod section. Clanhost will provide us with the servers. ESL.Benelux will give out some CSP servers to teams and players. The only rule is that you are only allowed to play via ESL Gather."

This weekend in Almati, Kazahstan will be held Arbalet Cup Asia 2010, in which will be given $ 20,000. We would not see the biggest and the most famous teams in the world but for sure will not be bored in the company of chinese, korenians, russians and ukraines. The teams will be spread in 2 groups with 4 teams in which the first two teams go to the next stage. The double elimination will be a bit stranger than the usual, in the winner bracket there will be played 2 out of 3 maps and in the loser we will watch only 1 map.
While the Arbalet Cup is being held you can also watch the demonstrative tournament, more information about it can be found here : http://www.gather-network.eu/news/1301/default/
After winning the Newegg Winter Wanfest about two weeks ago, with top teams such as EG and Sway Gaming, the Counter-Strike 1.6 squad of Loaded has brought us a couple of surprising and dramatic roster changes.
The organization first announced the departure of two of their Counter-Strike 1.6 players, both Jimmy “LiN” Lin and Jasper “sfX-x1-“ Ko have been dropped from the line-up. To continue the drama, Ric “inERTiA" Bundy was also moved from the roster. He has decided to take a break from gaming and has been marked inactive by the management.
It didn’t take the American powerhouse long to find some new forces. Along with the only remaining player in their squad, Scott “Evolution” Cavallero, a total of four former DINC players will now join forces with the organization to form the new Loaded.CS squad:
Paul "ADRENALINE" Baker Anthony "djibouti" Manosca Scott “Evolution” Cavallero Kyle "flowsicK" Mendez David "Xp3" Garrido
We here at Gather-Network.eu would like to wish the best of luck to the new Loaded.CS squad in the future!
