I know that you are all waiting for news about the new GN that we are cooking for you. By this post, I will give you the last updates regarding GN and a few informations about what's going on next.
First of all, I would like to highlight and thank Gonz for the wonderful job he did by leading the "Help & Support" team during the last years. As many of you already know, Gonzdecided to step down from his position for personal reasons. We respect this decision and we wish him all the best for the future. He can be assured that we all appreciated to work with him.
The administrative staff did not clearly decide yet who will take over Gonz's functions into the H&S team, but be sure that you will be updated about that very soon.
Now let me describe the current status of the new GN known as GN 10. This update is really a MAJOR one. I recoded the BOT from scratch with many new features and bugfixes, we will have a totally new premium system with much more features and statistics, and the website is not an exception with many tweaks (including java ac-tool and crew page for GN staff).
You have to know that we are working really hard now to have the system ready as soon as possible. We are actually finishing the last part of the project, especially the website, the ac tool and the new premium system. I think that it should only be a matter of week(s) now before we can come with a public beta of the whole system.
To give you some preview of what's coming next in GN 10, here is a selection of hints which may interest you: new games, new stats, new premium, new ban system, new gather types, new gather options, new bot commands, new "support" tools, new management features, and much much more :)
tbh i really didn`t like gonz personalty but i believe he did alot of work for this community , good luck
i have a small suggestion that comes in a question form
is it important to pick 1 of the staff as the leader ? i mean i find it odd and soo typical 1 of the king sons will take over his place when he leave
no offense the h&s are very well picked but im seeking something new cuz this started to be boring i barly join gather now a day everything i hear about is the same just (basics with improvments)
so i hope u guys come out with something new that really pulls our attention much more offen
i know what im asking is much , but its for the sake of gather
u guys are working on this project for almost 2yrs now and in the end there will be a java-based anticheat like the one we have actually? gratz, seems like u know how to keep this network alive, not.
big difference. java is c++ for dummies, full of bugs, insecure, randomly working. i can even see the threads "LQL MY ANTICHEAT ISN'T WORKING BUT I'VE INSTALLED JAVA PROPERLY, WHAT AM I PAYING FOR????" we need an downloadable anticheat-CLIENT, coded in c++/c, listing running processes and reading out different system- and game informations, just like esl aequitas does. otherwise the beLLo's will conquer this network with their circumspective cheatingstyle. plus: i rly wonder how some ineyes are passing the ac-team, i've seen so many LMAO players during the last weeks/months, a lot of them are still playing, how's that gonna be? makanas played 200+ matches and his hacking was like "HUH, I DON'T CARE AT ANYTHING LOLZ" we have to make a step forward with this anticheat-release, THIS IS THE INTENTION, who cares about a new layout, new bot-commands and management-features. just tell me that it is even a java-coded CLIENT, NOT a web-based JOKE, and i'll stop cryin instantly.
boneyards, I'm hoping he just means Java coded, not an applet.
Java can be very bloated if it's poorly programmed, and yeah, there are still problems with the Java plugin itself - but if it's coded well enough, it can still be as good as Aequitas or any other AC.
Oh, and Java is a LOT more difficult to code instead of C++. Just in my opinion, of course
OMG where you drunk when you typed this news? it's ... colorful !
Well good luck

You obviously don't know what you are talking about

One precision: java is not full of bugs, not insecured. Different from the program coded in Java which is AC Tool.
But i agree with you, need a C++ tool or at least a C# tool ( pretty similar to Java and may be easier for them to manage)
a standalone exe as anticheat tool was planned but could not be realized yet. The Gather-Network is not an anticheat organization, so we did not investigate that much time into that, except creating our own anticheat tool which is (compared to others) not that powerful.
As it's working now, it won't make any change if its running from a java applet or as standalone exe.
I bet you are not a coder? Did you ever work with Spring, JSP, Velocity?
Just take a look at the job-market. Noone is looking for a C++ coder. C is the language anyone begins with, Java is the one in which you end with.
You say "a standalone exe as anticheat tool was planned but could not be realized yet. The Gather-Network is not an anticheat organization, so we did not investigate that much time into that"
e-play.pt did this...they are a much smaller organisation than GN....in a few short years they have made huge progress with gathers ....guess what, they have a downloadable anti cheat.....go see it.
And #5 go see clanbase Mudovishte is there for his country and winning lans FAIL
#60 Let him live in his kiddie opinion.Btw my real name is Zile(Underground Team) @myst there is a 20 HLTV's organisations and i am sure that someone will accept to be in work with you,HLTV's would be great!
we also do have an anticheat tool. Are you sure theirs is more successful ?
I think "anticheat" is a big problem/thread in the whole gaming-world, there won't be a 100% free-cheater-community.
@aSSSSSi:
not a new one, but big changes to the current website (for example: a new controlpanel, option to "ignore" users, new pm-center ...)
@Mudovishte:
I agree, we will just find a new partner
@colourofyourdreams:
i t's a good idea to include an anticheat-tool which is successful already. However we have to take some time to investigate more into this cheater-problem, I'm sure we will find a good solution for the community.
Many reason. In java concurrency management in easier to use than in C++. Java handles it self the memory (which is not the best choice for huge applications) makes it easier to start with java...
C++ is made with pointers, references and so many more you don't seem to know about. i'm of course talking about object programming language. Not scripting...

I had a look at what your applet is doing, no point to have the same thing in C++. Agreed. And it's better to keep yours so that no one will bother doing an anticheat bypass :p
As famous one are (i guess) all bypassed
"However, noone is looking for a C++ coder? "noone" is a bit rude. I'm software engineer working with C++ since 3 years in a company (mainly in C#, I admit).... Once you worked with C++, you could easily adapt to Java...
Just a precision, when you make some studies at university in France, you begin with Java to handle object programming, make some C to learn about threads, memory management, system & network and then go on with C++ AND Java... This is for software programming.
For web applications, we started with PHP/ASP along with some MySQL/ SQL then went to J2EE, Hibernate, JDBC, ....
True our anti cheat is average...its neither bad or amazing...but the downloadable one enforces EVERYONE to use it.....perhaps we could do that rule for GN.....it would really help..even in this present day if we had anti cheat enforced for all then we could catch 50% of cheaters.
#70 lol yeah there are lans...i ain't gonna dickride Mudovishte...but he is a good player....you were inferring that he cheats and with ac on he will be 800....i'm just saying hes clean.....and even with a new ac he'll get 1000 skill points (maybe on a 'low' channel but still 1000 none the less).....
#74 Country is Montenegro but i use random flag because my flag doesn't exist here (just Serbia and Montenegro). We have 10000 or more players and that's enough! I've played in Keln(WCG with my team) and we didn't disgrace my country. I am right now in best form in my country and also best aimer here. We have more tournamets and lans then you think. As i can see i have more obtained tournaments then you have years. In time when i begun playing here i wasn't interested in GN and also i had a very bad internet. I don't want to destroy these great news anymore and i don't want to contend with you anymore,i respect your opinion that i am cheater. Sry for posting this here!
Edit: Make a rule that obliges everyone to write in English on the main website, exception for the "Channel Forum". And after 'x' warnings (3 for example) they get 5 banpoints.
" new games, new stats, new premium, new ban system, new gather types, new gather options, new bot commands, new "support" tools, new management features ... "
#76 I said he cheats? Not really, you can "hax" without a wh you know, by using something else.
#77 Well I guess when you play in a country with only 1 or 2 real teams, not that hard to become a WCG PLAYER LULZ. I am sure you have won lot of tournament... in your home town cyber, sup with qpad?! D:
Sorry, I wish good luck in your cs career, I am glad we have a pro player from Montenegro on GN.
Why are all the retards whining about the AC-tool being made in Java? Don't get involved in things you don't know anything off, anti-cheats made in c++ or c# are as easy to bypass as a Java anti-cheat.
Unless you make an anti-cheat client as advanced as ESL's Aequitas for example, you will never be able to hold off hackers. Look at Custodia, X-ray and many others which have been created as standalone .exe anti-cheats, and guess what, they are worth noting.
The Java anti-cheat of GN is not bad at all, if you can bypass such ab anti-cheat that means the odds are very high that you have bought a hack to bypass it. And if that is so, it will probably be more advanced to bypass all those default bitblt clients so there would be no anti-cheat to really improve security by much.

Perhaps this is why you find Java easier. At my university, we used C and C++ for 2 years before swapping to Java, and most of us found it to be a headache to program.
Don't always assume that your opinion is the right one.

hello mr. internet-superhero,
who of those players are you then?
Team Montenegro WCG 2008 Cologne/Germany Nikola "Pandemonium" Vuletic Predrag "hanbabz" Rackovic Milutin "seven" Velasevic Milos "Gigi" Rackovic Ilija "smrtko" Popovic
cant find your nick in there, just cut the bullshit lying and admit that you are just another internet superhero.
P.s.: i'll give you 2 GN € if you can tell me the correct team name without using google

It's just because you are used to C++ that you think Java is harder to handle. but trust me it's not
Try to code the same programs in Java and C++ and you'll see. For example: - portability in C++, Java is way easier bec you are running this shit of JVM. - Extensibility in C++, depends on the platform. Java is easier too... - coding in C++, go handle ur memory (i know it's not hard) but you don't need to in java
I have aplenty of examples like that. C++ is fatest cos it does not build code to be run under an intermediate virtual machine...
Not the good thread to talk about that. What i wanted to say is applet is good enough for taking some screenshots.
#93 Went there and you got back home without a single win/draw
#96 das ist aber schade :dddddd
#77 Ok! I lol'd on this one. Saying that you are in the "best form" and that you are teh "best aimer" doesnt proof here that you are teh best. You're actualy playin on .ba with little newbies who think your the almighty god who once went to qwcg and got back without a single win.
#100 Nah,look at my skill ponts few times on .de 1300.Goodbye! P.S What happened with ur Macedonia,we won and they are still crying. Result with Serbia was 16-14 BUT our ping as 70 and their 30. In LAN they just can lick my foots! Feel free to ask them what happened with best clans in Serbia ever like KGB,pak etc..when they came on LAN tournamet ah!
Ok, look mudovishte, i dont give a shit about some random forum threads written in jiberish nor do i care about some random facebook groups.
The fact is that you said, you were attending WCG 2008 in Cologne/Germany. I already proofed that you werent there but you are still holding on to your lie. Because of that im gonna show you some more facts that you could never have been there.
1. According to your SK Gaming Profile you are born on the 17th December 1992, WCG 2008 was held from the 5th - 9th November 2008. Which means that at that date you were 15 years old.
According To the WCG rules you must be at least 16 years old to enter the Counter-Strike Tournament at the WCG Grand Final...
Quote:
WCG RULES
Age Restrictions There are age restrictions on gaming in Germany. If any player does not meet the below age restrictions on the 6th of November, they will not be allowed to qualify past the local Finals. For players that do not meet the age requirements that are in a team-based game, their team may not qualify. Counterstrike – 16+
anyway, usually i dont care about any GN hacker, wnb progamer, best moldavian aimer or whatever you guys want to call yourself. but you and your lies really annoy me...
Now please put your correct age on your GN Profile aswell, cause as you showed us yourself you are 2 years younger than your profile says. - oh, look that was another lie LoLma0
#102 Call yourself the best aimer when you finish top5 Sweden/Germany!!!!! Then you can come back here and say "IM TEH BEST". Until then enjoy your demo viewing for AC;), maybe youl learn something like you said #93
myst (#50) wrote:>@LeSc0licious:we will try to get a new HLTV partner when releasing the new gn. I HOPE YOU WON'T FORGET THAT. Not just for me, the admins realy need hltv on the servers, an easy way to catch cheaters and so on. hf
It was a picture when they won WCG in Montenegro against Underground Team but few days before they left there they called me to play.I don't give shit what are you thinking about.I will tell you just one thing!New WCG rules are since 2009 year but WCG where i played was on 2008.One fact is that "n0thing" won WCG with his 15 years.GL nabcake

Firstly you all moan about the anticheat tool and the fact that a new 1 possibly on the way but isn't ready as of yet. so wouldn't you rather them sort out the current one till the new one is finished?
The Current Actool does its job you all want it mandatory so the ones who moan about this so much why aint you using the actool at this moment?. Any Anticheat in the world isn't gonna catch 100% cheaters you all should know that.
You all treat the Administrators like their something you wiped of your feet. They didn't have to make GN but they did for all of you to enjoy so give them a break to be honest and i can say that they been working on GN 2009 for a while but everyone gets delayed and they didn't have to give out more news on when the new GN is here.
now since this is about gonz i hope he comes back sometime since he was a good guy who was dedicated to GN and supporting. goodluck
